Christmas came early

Christmas came early to our house. It came today, actually. I have to run in to work for several hours tomorrow morning, Christmas Eve (even though we are closed) and then some errands, and we need to get to Nana and Grandpa's early in the afternoon. We'll be there through Christmas Day. So, we opened most of the presents under the tree today.

Here's the holiday stuff. Some pics. Some videos. For the peeps that are far away this holiday season. Love you and miss you all!

Coming out of hiding

I am SO sorry I haven't posted since September. Time just ran away with us. Here's what we've been up to this fall...

Grandma Cheryl came for a surprise visit in October.
We watched the CSU Homecoming Parade on an unusually warm October morning.
Modelling my cashmere and wool sweater knitted by Auntie Kate. Oh yeah. I'm not even 2, and I own cashmere. Lovin Mommy's flowers.
This fall was full of very warm days followed by drastically colder days, and then warm days, again.
Someone wasn't ready for summer to be over. Why isn't there water in my pool, and why am I wearing polarfleece in the pool?!
Jeez, Mom.
Riding a tractor at Halloween with my BlowPop.
Riding my horsey, I mean, my Daddy.
At any given time, Talon can be found in his favorite place in the house - in the recliner with the remote.
Getting ready for the final Sonny Lubick-coached game at CSU. It wouldn't be the Boarder War with Wyoming if there weren't snow on the ground, and it wasn't 20 degrees! Had a blast anyway with my Mom, Dad, Grandpa Paul, Uncle Beck, Aunt Sarah, and Uncle Zach! Auntie Sarah bought me a big pretzel. I love pretzels and cheese!
Reading books with my Grandpa Paul - my favorite thing to do!

1st Birthday - The Day After

A warm, sunny day was followed by a chilly, cloudy one. Talon ran through the house with his Elmo balloon, and at bedtime, he modeled his new jammies from Grandma Cheryl.

Happy 1st Birthday, Talon!

Sorry I didn't get these up sooner. Talon's first birthday was September 7, and his party was Saturday, September 8.

Talon's party was a blast! We had beautiful weather - well into the 80s and sunny. All of Erik's family, Grandma Jackie, Beck and some of Lane's friends were able to stop by for a bbq.

So, here we go...

Gee, are ALL these presents for me?!Uncle Beck got me a really cool train with jungle animals that I love to chase around the living room. But, wait! Rio's got a pacifier! I wonder if she'd notice if it was missing...Grandpa Paul got me some really cool books. I LOVE books!Uncle Lane, Aunt Kim, Mikeila and Rio got me an Elmo book that plays music (I love Elmo and music!) and a Spiderman doll. His arms and hands flip and twirl when he sings the Spiderman song or Itsy Bitsy Spider. I love to dance to it and try to catch his hands.Nana and Grandpa got me a super cute Rammie (CSU mascot) outfit that I will model for the camera this fall. I also got my very own step stool and seat that has my name and a fire truck and hat and hydrant on it. I love to stand on it in front of the window and stare at all the cars going by. I tell Mommy and Daddy all about what's going on outside, and I scold them for not taking me out there more often!

Grandma Cheryl and Papa Ron got me books and clothes and Legos. The Legos came with a kitty cat that I love to carry around the house. Mommy and Daddy build stuff with my Legos, and I'm already a pro at taking them apart!Aunt Keri got me a puzzle and Little People Circus. I love to chew on Little People! Don't worry, Mom, they haven't been recalled. :)Now to the cake!Hmm. Now, I'm allowed to stick my fingers in this, and Mommy won't stifle me with a wash cloth? This tastes pretty good!Yes, I really ate that much cake. The End. Unless Uncle Beck emails us some more good pics. :)

Talon Walking - Video

First video of Talon walking. He's made many better attempts than this one, but this seems to be the only one we've gotten on video so far. The first part of the video is what we deal with all day - Talon thinking his activity table has wheels. Hard plastic against vinyl floor. I think he loves how loud it is. The walking part comes at the very end of the video.

Outings

Talon had his second trip to the Denver Zoo. He still isn't very interested in any of the animals. The only one he seemed to care about was a really ugly shrew. The glass case they were in went floor to ceiling, so he was able to watch them run around from his stroller.

Didn't really take many pictures. Here's a bad one of Talon and Erik on the merry go round. Talon didn't like it much.

Yesterday Talon and I went to Fossil Creek Park to meet Erika and Gage. Erika was in my birthing class. The boys enjoyed fighting over each other's lunches and playing in the mulch.

Also, Talon has come down with an ugly case of pink eye. Ick.

Surprise!

On August 18, the kids threw a surprise 60th birthday party for Mike and Sarah.Over 40 friends and family managed to keep the secret for a month! Needless to say, we caught them off-guard!No luau would be complete without a pig. It's a good thing it tasted good because it sure was ugly!Grandpa and Mikeila.Just hanging out.The family.
