Fall 2008

Talon likes to put his chair on top of beds, chairs and toy boxes.

Breakfast at IHOP after church.

Talon and I spent a day at Berry Patch Farms at the recommendation of Janna. We had fun picking raspberries and checking out the pumpkins.

Talon was a dragon for Halloween and roared at each person as they answered the door when we were trick-or-treating.

Talon turns 2!

This is ridiculous because he's almost 3 now, but here we go.

Cousin, Mikeila reading his card to him.

Me with Talon and cousin, Noelani.

Talon fell and hit his ear on our bed frame the morning of his 2 yr doctor appointment. At least I didn't have to make a separate appointment to make sure he was ok! His ear is still a little messed up from this one.

Erik becomes a firefighter

Last July, Erik made the hiring list for the fire department in Greeley. He started out as number 8. As they've done hiring over the past 12 months, we think he may be up to number 2, and we're hoping they hire a few people for the academy this September.

In the meantime, he was hired late last summer as a volunteer firefighter for Fort Collins. Fort Collins and surrounding areas (Poudre Fire Authority) has a predominately paid fire department, but there are 3 houses that are staffed by volunteers. Erik was hired for Station 9 - Horsetooth - which is very near our house at Horsetooth Reservoir. He (and Talon and I) made it through over 3 months of fire academy almost every day. He graduated in December and still does ongoing training and shifts almost every week. Just twiddling our thumbs now. Hoping for that call from Greeley!

Erik's day job is building custom fire trucks. In August, there was a large fire convention in Denver. He and Talon were hanging out next to one of the trucks that Erik built.

Catching up

Time to catch up on the last year. Many posts of unedited photos to come...
